Members spent the day familiarizing themselves with the busiest section of river from Bates Road to Big Eddy. We also spent time doing drills and swiftwater rescue scenarios. A great refresher before a busy floating and fishing season. Be safe out there this summer.
A morning of winter navigation and vehicle operations and an afternoon of avalanche rescue in the remains of a few days old avalanche up near Relay Ridge in the Big Hole Mountains.
We spent the day up at Grand Targhee Resort working through companion rescue drills. We then worked with our amazing avalanche dog, Tuka. The afternoon entailed a terrain familiarization tour of the resort and its boundaries for common avalanche paths and trouble areas.
